Changed an engine on this truck and due to circumstances lost track of where they go and whether they are 12 or 24vdc, or negative or positive. I have gone through the materials I have and have not found a listing for wire numbers. If it is in the Tech Manuals I don't know where to begin looking.
Thank you gentleman

Unfortunately wire numbers can be difficult as there is not a clear listing. far easier with TL or plug numbers, as most of the plugs are listed for the A1 In a lot of cases, TL numbers from the A0 listing can give you a clue, but they top out at TL300 so N/A in this case.

Where they are physically located can also sometimes help you narrow down the search area of the drawing to search for wire numbers that way...

When in doubt, hand over hand them to the destination:)

Good luck.

TL number is a 4 gauge andcapable of reaching the alternator. I will go to the schematic again. I do have to say the schematic for the A0 are alot nicer and easy to follow than the A1's. My opinion for what that is worth. LOL
I think I just figured it out, hand over hand to find the other end?

And your 4ga clue pointed me right to it. TL508 connects to the solenoid L10 at the back of the head that feeds the intake heater. it comes from the LBCD/PPD. If you look along that wire you will probably find a funky thin spot covered with heat-shrink tubing. That is the “fusible link” for the intake heater…:)

Its on sheet 12 of the A1 schematic…

229A, 229B, and 3000 appear near the EMI filter. 229A & B going to the ECM (P188-67 & P188-65), 3000 looks like it is related to the warm up and exhaust brake switch through L11 (engine exhaust brake solenoid)—

Thanks guys. Going to have to study this. Maybe I need to go back to Schematic Reading 101? Is there a legend on all the initials?

So all the items I was looking for were on page 12. My schematics are printed on 8.5 X 11 paper and is very small. Is there a larger copy available or do I need to look for a print shop that can copy these on 14 X 20/ Needless to say thank you for your assistance!!! BTW page 2 is unreadable is why I missed that. LOL

There are PDF's of FMTV TM's in the Technical Manuals forum. I recall submitting Schematics for FMTVA1 for certain serial numbers. Perhaps that will help; I zoom in to enable reading and following routes.

You likely will find other helpful TM's and parts lists there, too—
