Stb64, fair enough. Why would the Width, Pintle height and ground clearance change between the A2 and the A3 if the only difference is the engine as per TM 9-2320-209-10-1?
Not being picky here, just ironing out all the details.
Width A2 99" A3 98", Pintle Height A2 34" A3 26 1/8", Ground Clearance A2 13" A3 10 5/16".

Sorry for the late responce, been real busy.
Kind Regards,
Emmett

Hi Emmett,
The rear mounted ladder could be included in one lenght measurement, and only the ladder brackets in the other. I don´t have a shop van truck, so i can´t check.
The difference in ground clearance could be due to different dogbones, early trucks had thinner ones that were round section instead of square, and the ends may have been smaller giving the truck more ground clearance.
Like Katahdin, i think the difference in pintle height is a typo.
One inch width difference is meaningless in my opinion. All it takes is slightly a different type of blackout panel, side reflector, or similar item.

Pictures taken in Graf march 2012

Truck was a multifueler with old style front crossmember. The stripped engine block was still in the truck.
Different style dogbones are visible in the pictures.
Next time i am in graf, i will take measurements if i get a chance.
