what type of “curled extension cord” connecting cord (that connects from your vehicle to your 1101/1102 trailer lighting connector) do you have?
Looking at an e-receipt I find: Wesbarg 7-way W/ 6 Long Coiled Cable - Trailer End from etrailer.com, however searching their website doesn't turn up anything at all.

Here's the results of a search of their site for coiled cable: COILED CORD for a similar cord.

Thanks Mainsail, just wanting to ensure I start out with the same required kit as other experienced owners; I pick up my M1102 this week!

I wouldn't pay more than $1800 for one with a frame and cover with good tires. They seem to be very overpriced right now. I like them though, I put some smaller civilian tires to reduce the height and have mine setup to haul mountain bikes, paddle boards and kids kayaks.

I towed my M1101 back from the auction pick-up with my M1009 no problem. I wouldn't tow it with a load with that vehicle, but empty is fine.

I paid $750 for my second M1101 and sold the HMMWV wheels for $400.

So far it's saved me at least a couple thousand in delivery charges for gravel and other materials.

Do I care one whit how it looks? Yeah, right. I actually get compliments when I'm parked at the local home center. It does what I need it to do and I don't worry about it rusting out.
What's going on with the pigtail in your 4th pic? Is that some sort of 4pin to whatever these trailers are adapter?

If you mean the second to last picture, then yes, it's an adapter to convert the military receptacle in the grey box to a standard 7-pin trailer setup.

I converted my first M1101 trailer harness to seven pin by rewiring from the junction point on the trailer, on this one I chose to keep the trailer wiring intact and built the adapter.

@CARNAC had one. He had a name for it XM-something or other. I forget.

Maybe he'll enlighten us.

The one in the picture a few posts up looks home made.

XM381 is the company that makes some of the trailer converters for the military. Maybe a bit over priced, but they look decent and work how they are supposed to. Converters from pretty much any civi vehicle to military trailer, and any military truck to civilian trailer. I have one mounted in my HMMWV and it's worked perfectly for years now.

I did indeed mean that particular picture. Did you make that or buy that pre-fabbed somewhere? I'm tossing around the idea of replacing the aft reflectors with same sized lights and running a separate 12V harness so I have lights when towing with either of my CIV vehicles, or building something like that.

I used the info in this stickied thread to build the box. I sourced a mil trailer connector from an old CUCV and got a coil-cord from a trailer supply website. The grey box is just a standard house-wire electrical box available in any home center.

Using multi-volt LEDs lets you use the existing trailer wiring for 12v or 24v tow vehicles. Much easier and more secure than running separate wiring.

Yeah, I was reading about that after the fact. Might just go that route. Thanks for the info!
