M113 weight

Hi everyone!
Does anyone know the weight ratio of alumnium and steel on a M113 APC from the 1960's? Any info is greatly appreciated!

I think we used the M113a3 maybe a1's (dont remember) when I was in the infantry in the '80s. If I remember right they were around 11,000 empty and around 14,000 lbs combat loaded.

The basis M113 is about 10.5-ton but I think the question is about the armor weight, ie. how much steel is in the armor plate?
The M113 was built of aircraft-quality aluminum which gives it some of the same strength as steel at a slightly reduced weight, as the greater thickness allows structural stiffness. Wayne

Jane's lists the empty weight of a M113A2 as 21,952 lbs. Combat weight is 24,809 lbs.

Back in the mid 1980's the company that I work for built a composite M113. The hull was still aluminum, but all of the rest of the structure was fiberglass composites with ceramic for the armor.

I was able to use a 10 ton overhead monorail crane to lift the assembly so that I could drag the tracks under the vehicle and use a come-along to pull them together.

The M113 built by FMC would not stop a 30 caliber AP round. Our composite version with ceramic armor stopped both 50 BMG and Soviet 12.7 mm AP rounds.
