Going to be picking up an M1240 M-ATV soon. My first project will be dropping the belly armor so I can service the Trans, T-Case, and replace a couple U-Joints. Then I can replace the Turret Hatch seals.

Edit: Forgot, I also have to replace the delaminated windows. I've got a dinner platter size area in the center of each one I can still see through. LOL

It looks like I'll need to download the TM's. It's the old mantra.... As survivability increases, maintainability decreases. I just hope I won't have to yank the engine/trans combo.

I have access to LDAC, so I already downloaded it into EMS Next Gen viewer. I used to be the TACOM Equipment Specialist for this truck. Now I'm on the FMTV A2

M-ATV are still EMS, they are working on doing a contract mod to do an in-house IADS conversion.

The FMTV A1P2 books are being converted as well. We're drafting the A2 books in IADS now.

The back end of it looks like the M1089 LMTV back end. Same Grove crane, two tool boxes, it appears to have two winches headed out back, and the stand and the Bench Vice that it mounts on...

Just for the hell of it when you swap the windows do a little experiment on one of them i had a fella to tell me you can get the outer sides of the glass real hot and sometimes clear the fog out of the inner sheet and he said he had taken the interior side off some and cut the center layer out so he had clear glass but no longer bullet resistant ! Who knows but would be cool if it worked !

I've been working there creating TMs over 22 years. I wouldn't risk my security clearance doing something like that. He'll, I get pissed when I see Dist. C and D at Surplus Stores.

I had heard something similar, but that the glass and Spall Liner would fall out, allowing me to insert layers of lexan.

That's the new Mark II Hiab crane.

3 BII Boxes, one full width right behind the crane, and 2 smaller ones on the back.

And a new TAC4-I independent suspension with nitrogen height adjustment like the JLTV.

If you had a version of the mk23 mtvr tm converted into a Dist. A for public release taking out any sensitive info the community would praise you!

We have sanitized versions we supply to FMS, but even those are not enough to justify a Dist. A. LOL
