My 1954 M211 has what appears to be a Memphis Equipment new or rebuilt 302 motor. The motor has a Y oil fill tube on it and all the other 302 motors, that I have seen, have a single tube with a can on top.

Does anybody know why GMC used the Y oil fill pipe? John at Memphis said .

" I do not know why. The Y tube was used through serial # M135-13854 and the single tube was used after serial # M135-13854.

Jim
