M313

I got the M313 drug home last Sat.
fairly heavy for no bigger than it is.

Nice looking unit. The M295 chassis you have under it is the early style by looking at the landing gear. The later M295s had two cranks and the legs only came straight up and did not retract to the rear. I have the old style and the legs are the best if you plan to go off road with it. What cracks me up is that the military listed the trailer as a 6 ton unit. The M295 has a 8 inch by 3/8 inch box frame. With a 3/8 inch plate added to the top and a 1/2 inch plate added to the underside of the frame. Garp says, after looking at the unit he would not be afraid to put a D8 CAT on it. I think he is right as far as the frame goes.
I looked at the frame and at first i thought that someone had welded the extra straps of steel to it. but after looking more closely, it was made that way.
the trailer will handle whatever weight the tires will take.

the landing gear is way cool.

I dont really have any plans for it rite now but i have been kicking around the idea of pulling the box off and using it as a single drop after adding some ramps.

besides, i didnt have one so that was reason enough to get it.

gotta keep adding to the pile you know.

some folks get these confused with the expandible trailers.
this on is an expansible. when i get time i will crank it open and grab some more pics.

Yes Dave the chassis is the M295. The tires are the limiting weight factor on it. As far as a pioneer tool rack, all the M313s got them for some reason. Another cool conversion (in my opinion) would be to remove issued body and put the 17' cargo bed from an M36 on it! My M447C certainly taxed the little M275A2.

thanks.
i was surprized how heavy this little unit is.
the brakes are the same type as my first dolly. and they WORK! all the lights work also!
the M36 bed would be a cool idea.
I wont have time to get to it for a while so the plans will change many times by the time i get to it.
