Mine has a twin on the drivers door and I was told it is supposed to be a coyote, mascot for the SD Air Guard. Did your truck come from Ellsworth AFB?

Coyote - State animal of SD

I think I remember some other thread about this. I googled ' coyote south dakota' and found it is the state animal of South Dakota. Appears some state guard units put that silohuette on their vehicles.

It IS the state critter of South Dakota. And that symbol is used a lot on state NG trucks. Also the state ANG has, or use to have at least a nicer looking coyote/prairie wolf on the tail of their F-16s. Picture was taken at Balad.
