There was a custom made hitch on my truck when I got it - never liked it.
Finally got around to replacing it.
I opted to have a shop install it for me - best $150 of labor I ever spent.
Went with a class IV - but the shop welded extra support just to make it as robust as possible.
The pictures show the before and after. With the 8" drop ball mount it site 24" off the ground.
