M35A2 FUEL SHUTOFF VERY HARD

I have an m35a2 with a multi fuel pump. I had to replace the o-rings on the hydraulic head. Now during reassembling I noticed the fuel shutoff rod is very difficult to move. Its as if the spring tension is harder then its supposed to be. I put everything back together and attempted to pull the shut off from inside the truck and it was extremely difficult. Prior to taking it apart everything seemed to work fine. Did I miss something? I've done this same job a few times on different trucks and never had this issue.

Try keeping the screws looser that hold the cover on and see if that fixes it!

Its hard to move without the cover on. Just trying to push it back by hand is very difficult. the spring tension seems to be much harder then it should be

Maybe something came undone on the governor while you had it apart?

Have not experienced that.
