Don't quite remember mirror's on these trucks from 38 years ago excpet they shook a lot. A friend looking at mine the other night who drove these trucks a lot more than I did said they were the wrong mirrors. I see by the pictures most have west coast mirrors where mine are sort of sq. I remember that the older gassers we had had small round mirrors.

Hi Cliff,

GL sent something Florida doesnt honor. So they are reissuing a Florida title. Should be on the road soon. Incidentally, does the deuce take 30 weight oil?

You should think about downloading and reading the manuals if you haven't done so yet. At least the 10, and maybe the multifuel operator one. I don't know if it is here in the TM section, if not, Idaho Motorpool has it to download for free.

I have all the manuals. Saw in the -10 65 where it referred to OEI 30. Wasnt sure that correlated to API 30. So was verifying it here.

On another point, Ive noticed that the engine sometimes stalls after warmed up and going about 15 minutes. But will restart if I let her rest for about 2 minutes... but only if I toggle the accelerator pedal. Is this a fuel injector or fuel filter clogging issue?

Also, the alternator belt squeals when I engage the main switch. So either the belt is loose or the alt is over loaded?

Thanks in advance,

~Tim

I was checking on oil today. Always used Rotell T in my diesel pu but they only have it in 15 w 40. I thought you were suppose to use 30 W. The only thing they had in 30 W diesel oil was a blended synthetic and was thinking about that. Have a complete manual coming in a couple of weeks. (Thanks to a NG Col.)

The Military switched over to 15w40 in the multifuels a while back. Alot of the trucks you see will have 15w40 stenciled on the heater cover or sometimes the hood.

The mirrors you are looking for a small, either 4"x6" or 6"x9" (I don't remember). The West Coast mirrors that are on the trucks are not correct for Viet Nam. They didn't come out until the late 70's.

Sorry - I just looked at the post dates, and realized I answered a question from 2 years ago. Hopefully, this will help somebody.
