Thought I'd throw up a few pics.
Chapter 8 pretty much covers it in detail.
I spaced the Vee Spring out a bit more so there is no chance of it rubbing on the drum. I did shim the outershoe as per TM.
I appear to be missing the spring that holds the upper part of the outer shoe and someone put a spring to a tab on the frame instead. I will try to find that spring but in the meantime I got an E Brake again.
The PO gave me the linings with the truck and a local Brake shop relined the shoes for me.
To simplify the TM,
You put the assembly together on on the ground and then put it in place as one unit.
Also what the TM does not tell you in detail is the Bolt(they call it a screw...biggest darn screw I ever saw)that it pivots on requires two wrenches to adjust.
You basically snug the bolt until the outer shoe has almost no wobble( this is in the TM) but when you tighten the jam nut it will change tension on the pivot of the shoe so you need to hold the bolt head as you tighten the jam nut and after the jam nut is tight you can actually back the bolt off a C hair to give it the proper free play. You do not want it binding at all or the upper spring will not do it's job.
