M35A2 radiator - alternatives

In the last while, questions have come up regarding alternatives to the OEM radiator, so I though I'd start a thread to collect wisdom.

Here are the specs on the OEM radiator:

I didn't see prices on those links you posted to Northern. Do you really have trouble finding a stock radiator?

Just purchased a new radiator made by Indiana Steam Works, I believe. This is a federal stock numbered, original. Paid with shipping around $900. Many suppliers have these radiators. I don't see the need for alternatives to the stock radiator.

Some (maybe myself) don't want to spend $900 for a radiator on a $3k truck if possible.

Some ingenuity and a half day of work can possibly save 4-500 dollars.

Yes, you are correct, getting a NOS or original style can easily be done.

Just had one re-cored with brass for $894. Looks better than new.

Go to a well known auction site for prices. Perhaps 20% or so under the price of a stock rad. No, it is not about finding an OEM one; many people asked for alternatives and I thought it would be interesting to compile a few ideas.
