Built a snorkel for Fredo Corleone's deuce out of 4 inch exhaust pipe with a donaldson 4 inch ram air scoop. Haven't test driven it yet, but hopefully it will get some more air to the lds.

What all did you use to make it? is it one piece off a truck intake or exhaust pipe or did you weld pieces together to make it?

Its pre-bent pieces welded together. A 45 a 90 and one straight piece.

The scoop was bought on ebay, it came from Australia.
I'll see if I have some, if not I can take some tomorrow. Basically they bolt through the holes for the top plate, and wrap around each leg, a bolt puts pressure on each leg to hold it. It's the smaller bar too, a regular medium bar would block the headlights a bit.

Here's a pic, there is a vertical plate between the towbar legs that is connected to the curved pieces you can see. You have to put the legs on after the bar is though.

We test drove the Deuce and it went well, it seemed like it had more power. Maybe it needed the air filter cleaned.

The top part (air ram) looks like ones I/v seen on the Land rovers set up for paid jungle rides for turists.

That looks great, I had mine made yesterday which is pretty similar minus the bend and ram air top. Mine is also made out of 4 inch exhaust pipe

Living in rainy Oregon I wonder if you could ingest enough water at speed to hurt something? Collapse the air filter or hydro lock?
I would love to do this mod for the cool factor but I drive in all weather. What are your thoughts?

Keep the original mushroom on it and rain, shine, or snow should not be an issue

The donaldson ram air intake is designed to remove water from the air as it enters the scoop and has a grill over the front to keep birds and leaves out.
