M35A2C brake switch

I put a brand new switch in and now as soon as I touch the pedal it comes on which is great. When I left off the lights go out and then on and off again really quick. Going down the road the lights will come on and stay on and then go out eventually. Didn't do this with the old switch. What am I missing?
