M35A3 steering wheel play

I have an M35a3 with only 5000mi on it. However, the steering wheel seems to have way to much play. I tried to tighten up the linkage but i think I may have been on the wrong bolt.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

How are your bushings? Best to have someone in the cab moving the steering wheel back and forth. That way you can track down where your free play is.

Does the A3 use the SAME steering box as the A2 ?????, If so, is it REBUILT ????, if not the steering box could have a LOT of miles/hours on it and could be at the end of adjustment.

they all seem to have play, seems like i remember that the steering box is the same as the A2 but with the new wheels and tires it will tear it up.

Does it seem to take a lot of steering wheel pressure to make the wheels turn? If so you may have an issue with the regulator. It shouldn't take but 10 lbs. of steering wheel input to engage the air assist. The best advice I can give you is to look for slack in the cylinder between the steering box and the the spindle.
