I have just replaced my tach sensor because i think the old one got wet and stopped working. Does any know if the sensor needs to be calibrated and if so how? The tach is now reading max rpm at around 2900rpm, i recall the old one being about 2650rpm. What is max govern engine speed for a 3116 cat?

Don't know about calibration or maximum governed rpm but the operator's manual says max full load rpm is 2700. It is dark and raining now otherwise I would look for you, I believe there should be a sticker on top of your engine which if my memory is correct will show a maximum fast idle speed of 2900 rpm - I may be wrong so check it. :-D
