Well, I finally got some warm weather so I shot some Truck Porn for everyone who was asking.........

First, the vehicle has a plate on the dash that say makers serial number is 8003421. Ord. Stock No. 23208358322. When overhauled in 1968 the mileage was around 22,000; currently 59670.

Because of size limitations and the number of photo's I'm just providing links rather than putting them in the message.

The batch of photos in this post is mainly the exterior. The only major issues seem to be that he tailgate is a bit rough and the bed is a bit rough. The wheel well covers were notched out; maybe for a brushfire unit as the red paint suggests fire service. The drivers compartment tub and engine area seem pretty solid.

There's a lot of small access plates and attachment points that I need to figure out what they are for.

Also, I need to figure out how to get the lights working. I think thats going to be step #1.

The winch is marked Braden. Wirebrushing the paint off reveals L / LU2-18 / 6208613 . There is also an aluminum tag riveted on that reads LU2-138.

Also shown are two shots of what I believe is called a universal joint coming out of the underside of the winch and headed toward where the power takeoff would be, but one arm of the joint seems to have broken off.

Also an image of where that cover is supposed to go.

I'm a bit of a technology Luddite; in the posting format the amount of images one could put in was limited. Tried it as HTML but to no avail.

Address reference fixed.

I sold that truck to Troy !! If you need to know anything let me know. The winch is not original to the truck. The drivers door is the best one I have seen. I really like the tires !! I am glad it found a nice home....

That is a nice truck! Most of the stuff is still there and appearently is working. You can trade stuff that is incorrect or "customized" for original stuff if you want to refurbish or restore it.

That looks like a fun project to "bring back" to a more stock truck.

Congratulations!

AS noted the blank is where the slave receptacle is located. The broken piece you mentioned is or was on the E-bay. Others may have them , Midwest Military, A B Linn, and in your area Adirordack Parts.
