m38a1 running rough

Hi The ole girl is looking great but not running good. I have smooth idle but running rough and a putt comes from the tail pipe. No back firing. Have all new tank, lines and rebuilt carb. also new spark plugs. Engine is original and never been rebuilt. 73,000 miles. engine seems tight but after driving for a while ( 3 gear) it spudders a little and loses power. even sometimes wants to stall. Hoping for a fix that wont break the bank. Thanks Again--Gabe

Are you using a US made coil (not chrome), have you replaced the condenser, is the distributor vent system working.

Tuned it up with a new condenser, cap and plugs. runs like a top !!! Thanks for the help !

Great news Gabe! I was chasing my tail until I realized that my M38A1 also had a bad coil.
