M4 High Speed Mess

So, I've been looking for another tracked armor project and ran across this. This is said to be a M4 High speed tractor, sorry for the bad pictures. To me, it looks repowered, why is the engine up front? Winch added, and either the tracks aren't original or it's missing all its rubber pads. It looks like it was converted into a logging rig for a forestry service. I would love to restore one to original condition but where would someone even start looking for all the missing parts? It's somewhat close to me, (I'm in WI) Maybe I should hold out for something more complete...

That is a Southeastern Equipment “Wood Tiger”. Nothing to start with. Call Red River Parts and Equipment, they have numerous unmolested M5A4 high speed tractors for sale.

Most or all of the M5's are gone. Sam Winer in Akron Ohio still has a couple rows of M4's. Need lots and lots of work.

The M4's had "steel track" and also had what we called "road track" with the rubber pads.

That’s definitely only a parts rig it would almost be impossible to find all the missing parts
