I'm curious about the "A3" on this tag. This tag was removed from a parts truck in Oklahoma. It was going to the scrapper, so I was able to remove some items.
I had the understanding that the extended service program deuces only had the A3 part number. Rebuilt with super singles, Cat engines etc.
Any comments?

A2 and A3 water truck had different size tank compartments. The A-2 has a 400 and a 600 gallon chamber. The -A3 has 2 500 gallon chambers.

As others have indicated, the "A" suffixes were model specific, not uniform across the chassis series. The tallest I recall seeing on a G742 series truck is an A5 suffix found on some versions of the expansible van.

Best wishes,
David Doyle
