My spring comes to about 26" . It does take a little time to get the cable threaded .

That appears identical to the New Life Canvas repro.

Yep its a good repo. I did not know if the one I sent New life to copy was correct or a field mod but it looks like it was correct. I stopped and got the spring from Lowe's yesterday so Ill be installing it this weekend.

I tried out the deflector and the spring from the commode auger today. Seems to work exactly right! Anyone else who tries this will be satisfied I am confident.
