M715/230 starter is toast

The local industrial starter rebuilder said it was gonna be almost $400 to rebuild my 24v starter... the field coils are burnt..does any body have a case with a set of good coils or maybe just another starter?
is there another truck starter that will fit in its place?

I might have a 24 volt starter in storage. It was a takeoff from a dead 715. Don't know if it's good or not. I will stop tomorrow morning and see if I can find it. I'll give it a quick check if I can locate it and message you tomorrow night. Can arrange shipping then. Glad to find someone who can use it. Gives me bask a half square
foot of storage space. Bill

If that doesn't pan out check over at The M715 Zone at www.m715zone.com Plenty of us have done 12V converstions or complete drivetrain swaps so there should be a few starters available here and there.
