It works great off road and in tight spaces,on the road it is underpowered,but I didnt buy it for road use.Its fine when empty,but loaded down its slow on the road.It would be the last one of my mv trucks I would ever sell.Its my baby..

How slow is slow and how much weight is loaded down?

Heres some pics of a job we did last week.M817 hard at work again,hauled 150 loads in one day.luckily we were dumping real close.I had enough of the 817 that day,they sure werent built for comfort.

Used the M817 today,shes earning her keep.

In vietnam we put side boards on ALL our m51s, these were 2x12s ,may have been a bit overloaded but the trucks handled the load great,

I have been wanting to build some steel ones.It will handle the load with no problem.

Do you prefer the M817 over the M929? Wondering which is a better truck

I prefer the m929 over the m817.I like full air brakes,flip up hood,wider cab,allison auto is nice.The m817 looks tougher.
