Never driven one of these but heard they knock your fillings out without a fairly heavy tongue load, so wondered what if you removed a few of leafs in the back springs (if this is even possible) do you think this will help with the harsh ride?

Just a thought because I really want to use one of these to tow a 5th wheel camper, but think the harsh ride will get old quickly....

Any thoughts?

With the Hendrickson walking beam rear, you might as well bolt the axles to the frame. Maybe some spring flex at 60,000 lbs. If you want a better ride, remove the entire bogie and replace it with air-ride from a newer truck.

You might be able to replace it with a whole bogie assembly from a five ton too. Should be relatively cheap and available, and i think the frame width is correct. It wont ride as smooth as an air ride setup, but it'll be a lot smoother than it is now

I am working on a M915 for a customer. We added 1400/20 tires to the truck and it helped the ride quality a lot. Putting a M35A3 bed on the back tomorrow, some extra weight on the back will help even out the truck. Right now all the weight is on the front. You can check it out at the Sussex NJ show April 26-27. BTW love driving the M915 great trucks.
