Hi All, I just picked up a 1984 923a1 truck. The door windows are so out of alignment. They don’t even come close to the gaskets up/down, in/out, or left to right. I was going to try to do the adjustments but since it’s a hardtop and the top will never be removed has anyone ever made door windows frames to bolt/weld on to the door that the window glass could seal too, then the door glass frame fab would then seal to the gaskets on the top? Basically looking to make something similar how a regular pickup truck door glass would go in to the door itself. Hope that makes sense.

I wasn’t sure if there was something aftermarket. Was thinking if I brake some 14 ga steel to make a 3/4”x3/4” channel +/- would work. I could weld it to the latch side of the door then weld it to the triangle stiffener on the hinge side. Thanks! Bill

Why "reinvent the wheel"...? Believe me, if done right, a restored door will open/close like the old fridges; seal fairly well all around; no binding or rattling of the window at any position and cranking it up and down takes just two fingers!

Been there - done it, many times. And sure enough I'm not the only one...

Here is one of many threads about fixing those door windows...
