Yep the 8.3 (a2 model trucks) have the turbo motors which have poor bottom end grunt UNTIL the turbo spools up where as the naturally aspirated NHC motor produces grunt via 14 liters of torque without needing the extra engine rpms to spin up a turbo to get the power.
It is widely known that the NHC 250 will beat a 8.3 turbo motor off the line but once the turbo spins up it will take the 250 in the long run.
