74m uses harbor freight chrome extensions hooked up to 24 volt batteries to do all his welding!!!! He says the chrome plating on those extensions is what makes the difference...... baaaaahhhhhaaaaaaa alternator boy

Yes Blake, I have used HardOx. I use it on the front of buckets and high wear areas to slow down the wear, not to put two pieces together. It has terrible shrinkage, so be careful if you are using it to hold things together. I run beads near the front edge and in an X pattern on the bottom. My front loader bucket on my tractor is about to get it. We used it a lot on excavator bucket bottoms and teeth of rippers, etc.. It's like weld-on carbide.

Yes sir HardOx is not much fun but durable as all get out. I have never used it for joining material before, i wouldnt think it would work with a darn with how bad it shrinks like you stated. We used HardOx pads on large 992,993,994 wheel loader hi abrasion rock buckets. A 6" circle of that crap 1" thick is stunningly heavy.

The rod i used on that frame was just fast set 6011 with the red flux btw

we used to build slag buckets for 966 loaders mostly all HardOx on working surfaces cutter bars, cutting edge, interior and exterior side plates, and mold board top to bottom. It took us longer to build the buckets than it took the foundry to destroy them and send them back out for rebuild.

I know, you and a lot of others also. Thanks for being patient. I’m heading to PA to pick up the second scissor type dump hoist I bought for $200. I have several 24v hydraulic pumps and tanks from forklifts my work was scrapping, so with that and 2 batteries onboard, it will be self-contained, and can have a pivoting hydraulic cylinder as the tongue jack. I’m stoked to do this. I’ll take tandem tippers for $100 please Pat!

I would love to have the same set up and put my S250 shelter in the back of the trailer and use the front of it as a porch and have it covered that would be nice
