Well, after working through all four rear hubs today this is my conclusion to this thread. The problem was a dry bearing. The brakes were fine on all four hubs. I thought the brakes were an issue on the right rear, but after cleaning and going through all the motions, everything was fine. At first glance, the brake shoe clearance seemed to be tight, but that wasn't the case. So, the right-rear hub was heating up due to lack of lubrication.

Had you checked your axle oil level prior to looking at the hub bearings?
