M931 Engine/drive train mods

Just curious if there are any common mods or hop ups to the M931 with the 8.3L Cummins turbo diesel and Allison auto trans. First truck. Not looking to hot rod it out, but maybe a little top end on the highway.

Things I wonder about

Boost, how much is too much? Wheres the control knob?
Gearing, probably shouldn't F with it but I have to ask
Brake issues, if any
