m931a2 compressor won't build air

The other day I went for a ride in my m931a2 and about two miles into my trip I noticed that I wasn't building air pressure any more so I decided to turn around and go home but just not use any brakes on the way to conserve air in the tanks. When I got home again my tanks were both at about 55 psi. I have come to the conclusion that there are no leaks in the system, its just that the compressor won't build up air. I think that the governor in the air compressor is just off. Any other ideas?

There is a governor on the firewall that could be bad. I had an M929 once with the same symptom and that was my problem.

Check the check valves going into the air tanks (primary tank especially) they rust up i had a slew of problems it was all check valves... derrick too much air pressure is either the govenor or the signal line that tells it to stop the compressor

Thanks, it was the governor signal line. Long story short, when I was finishing a project today I crossed 2 air lines, one being the air supply that leads to the governor.

Similar problem...

Took my m35 to pull out a stuck loader, and airpressure topped out at 30 psi under load and 28 at idle, no brakes, no front axle lock..... very very bad... the reed valves on the compressor seem to be working, however adjustment of the governor yields no results or changes what so ever!! could it be the governer, or is my compressor taking a poopie? BTW, there are no check valves on the way to the tank, at some point some one replaced it with a solid line.... any help would be appreciated.... thanks guys!!!

wellllll, to be specific, has a single, new check valve at the tanks, not 2 in the line like the TM calls for.... im just not getting the pressure build up... the more I think about it, the more i think the compressor just took a major dump... its been getting steadilly worse..... but im no expert... the national guard and 2 owners had this duece before me.... so... hahahahahahhaha...but thanks CRASH.... maybe ill rip that thing out in the morning.....
