M934 Stalling out help needed

our organization just bought a M934 for our volunteer work and ebay seller told us its road worthy and runing perfectly. Our volunteer shows up to pick up the truck and it constantly stalls out at low RPM and got him stuck several times already in dangerous moments.
Seller tells us he ALWAYS needs to spray starter fluid since the ETHER container is empty, and that its normal, however, local truck stop tells us that the fuel pump might be weak or its sucking up air into system.
I would like to verify if seller is correct or lying.
do these trucks ALWAYS need ETHER to start ( its not cold weather here!) or is she lying to cover up a problem they knew about.
they started truck with starter fluid telling our volunteer that they did this because truck sat for long time, but once he paid and left they said he always needed to start the truck with a spray and the stalling out is him not knowing how to drive the vehicle.

any insight into this?

Replace the rubber fuel lines.

If you still have an air leak,, find it and fix it.

Obviously, a full fuel system maintenance is in order as well.

Why on earth would you not check over or check out the vehicle before paying for it. If there were patently faults with it a more 'competent' driver should have been sent, and done the verification and collection. Seems to me if the axles had screeched and belched smoke, and the vendor had said "that's normal, just throw water at it occasionally" you would still have had it brought home.

I would contact ebay and return it due to "not as listed" condition. Or at the very least ask the seller to get it up and running and then do the transaction again...

This is a fuel supply issue, as stated above. The probable causes, in descending likeliness:

1) pinholes in the rubber lines. You'll never find them. Replace them all.

2) someone tampered with the manual prime and left it extended.

3) fuel filter is clogged.

If your driver would have had the federally required class B drivers license, he/she would have known not to leave the lot.

Hey Actionhero, if it is the NHC250, as in 934 A1 or A0, check the fuel pick up tube in the tank, may be loose sucking air. Also check fuel tank vent. Make sure it is not plugged with stuff, wasp, mud dauber etc. Also check the large fuel filter for plugging or the washer under the bolt not seated properly. My truck starts every time without ether. Also welcome to the site!
