I've found a m998 that's been made street legal and looks like its been somewhat gone through. The body looks like it's in good shape and has a new top. Dealer says no blow by. This has the 3 speed with 6.2l. they want 19k for it and I figure at least 2k to get it to me. Is 21k too high for a m998?

The way the dealer made it sound was the the 30yr humvees he's exporting aboard and getting 2 to 3 times there value.

No I'm in Nebraska. The ones I could find for sale were all in the 17-22k range.

If the dealer will supply it registered with plates it's a fair price in todays market. Not all that great, but OK based on what people are paying for them in the marketplace today. Make sure you can get it registered in your state before you buy it.

Where I live, a 6.2L or 6.5L w/ 3 Speed is about 18-21k registered, in "good" condition.

If it's not registered subtract 2k or so. Expect that you will spend at _LEAST_ $5k more to fix everything that is wrong, from brake pads, to glow plugs, to the EESS box, to gauges, to oil pressure senders...

So $25k for a registered (in your state, not another state), and PERFECT vehicle is reasonable in today's market. From a dealer? $20k IMHO is max I would pay. If it's not registered in your state, then you need to be cautious as some states will refuse to register/transfer titles. You'll want to check with others here to see what your state laws and actions might be. (laws and actions may differ!)
