Is there a difference between a 6.2 and a 6.5 engine wire harness? Mine was OH'd and has a 6.5 in it. My question is because thought I would change the engine harness because my controller connector is corroded a bit. Pn 12339350 vs 12446828. The IPC doesn't help so was the wire harness changed when they did the 6.2 to 6.5?

Yes and No...regardless of motor on a 3 speed, it gets the same harness, you must use a 6.2 harness.
The other engine harness for the 6.5 is with a 4 speed, the harness has TPS and such capabilities in the harness.
So you would not use a 6.5 harness from an A2 truck on a v-belted 6.2 or 6.5.

So...

the harness 12339350 for the 6.2L is ALSO used for the v-belt earlier 6.5L NA engines?

There‘s some misinformation about this in the parts book/manual (I can only find ONE harness, one for 6.2L and the other for 6.5L NA) as well as on some of the larger parts sites like hummerpartsguy.

12446828 (6150-01-412-3192) is shown as being for 6.5L NA / 6.5L DETUNED.

If a 6.5L motor were installed in a truck formerly powered by a 6.2L NA both of them v-belt engines, would the first harness - 12339350 -work?

Could the second harness work?

Thanks.

6.5 na A2 harness could work on a 3 spd. truck with some wiring mods.

When I replaced my 6.5 NA (with "V" belts) wiring harness, it took a 6.2 wirirng harness. How I know, I have a new 6.5 harness sitting on the self.
