Macaw Fire Extinguisher Bracket for HMMWV

Well I thought I knew about most HMMWV add-on kits to date, but I missed this one that the USMC came up with. The Macaw unit is a backpack foam system that uses compressed air and a foam solution to shoot a jet of foam at a fire. The system can also be used for decontamination with a different foam agent. I snagged pictures from the various vendors that have these bracket kits for sale. I'm not sure I will be adding one to my HMMWV in the intended location though. There is also a second set of brackets for a Halligan bar used for forcible entry etc.

I have eyeballed some of these and they are in my eyes huge in comparison to the pics and take up considerable real estate. Nice pelican case. Tons out of gp Albany. La surplus also had some listed.

Curiosity thing... The fire departments and crash trucks in particular that are "armed" with AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) have discovered that the old material is bad for your health.

AFFF contains (contained) PFOS and PFOA. Those two groups hoave been found to be carcinogenic chemicals and exposure can lead to serious diseases over the years. Created and manufactured in the United States from the late 1960s until 2002 exclusively by 3M under the brand name "Lightwater".
