Magnetic Start Relay - Replaced

As I work over my new-to-me Deuce, I find things to sort out. When replacing the air cleaner element, I noticed what I now know as a broken and bypassed Magnetic Start Relay (MSR).

Using the information found on SS, I realized that the start button was switching a much larger load than ever intended.

Managed to find a NOS MSR at Erik's, opted to use that rather than the alternatives also to be found specified here on SS.

Installed today, wired back as it should be - thanks to all here at SS and the very informative posts, big thanks to Bjorn.

Use the Search feature.

Cheers,

Martin.

My deuce had a defective relay that would not function after warming up the engine. Cooled down, it worked fine.

I found a NOS on eBay and removed the old relay. At that point I discovered that one of the nuts holding the wiring could not engage the screw threads at the cable end loops. So, while kind of 'tight' it would expand when heated and lose connectivity.
