I owe a large debt of gratitude to Wes ( @simp5782 ) and David ( @155mm ) for helping me with purchasing, storing, and transporting my M246 wrecker.

Wes found it for me via Purple Wave Auction and gave me invaluable advice that helped me with the winning bid.

David helped recover it and stored it on his property for me for over 1-1/2 years. He also helped connect me with a reliable transporter who brought it to me just before Christmas.

Gents, I can’t thank you enough for all of your time, advice, and assistance as well as patience with me. Thank you so very much!

I’ll eventually start a thread on the M246, it’s a 1954 Diamond-T with the original gas engine that fires right up, and the VIN ends with -0004. It’s still sporting its Air Force Blue with ID numbers still visible on both doors. Most everything works and it’s in amazing condition for its age and years of neglect. I’m very happy with it and have been working on getting it running & stopping reliably so I can put the crane to work around my property.

Do I spy a hmmwv in your front yard?

what? more green iron at the haystack farm? yes, it was a horse trade for hay, traded it as a non runner, bypassed the pcb with 3 wires and made it run, kinda hurt the guys feelings because he had 2 other non green mechanics look at it, it did have a cracked fuel filter housing that was throwing them off and a smoked pcb.

@silverstate55 I am kinda curious if you are holding out on us with a junk yard full of old trucks, I spy a pink A model

only if my wife knows i am looking at another old truck, those old trucks need saved even if we kill new trucks to do it. I already have a 2016 running gear ready and waiting for a transplanted body

my wife doesnt worry about me talking to other women, she worries about me talking to Tony from Facebook marketplace about another KW.
