Delaware will register, title and tag HMMWVs as a commercial. Some of the DMV workers are uninformed on the process though
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Let's be honest. No state is "friendly". Just more willing to accept revenue than others.I find it amazing that Florida is not friendly but the peoples republic of Massachusetts is friendly.??

I do appreciate Wisconsin's rules of $5.00 non-expiring registration of MV's (I wish they would change their rules prohibiting tracked MV's). Wisconsin HMV Registration FormLet's be honest. No state is "friendly". Just more willing to accept revenue than others.
Are people sure that NY is friendly? I am a former resident of that Soviet republic and do travel back there a few times a year. I have seen two HMMWV tagged in the state but I assumed they must be older units. NY does a yearly inspection, including emissions testing.
I think vehicles that are pre-1996 are exempt from the testing, but for newer vehicles, as federal regulations got more strict, so did the testing. I don’t see how ~2007+ trucks would pass.
Depending on the year of the vehicle, NYS also requires Cyclopes lights and airbags and some other junk Humvees wouldn’t have.
New York is green, the DMV will plate a HMMWV.

I understand there are some legal pitfalls with doing an LLC - setting one up solely to circumvent the law is fraud. If there's a wreck and investigation, and it becomes obvious there is no "business" going on in the LLC, you may need some deep pockets. I understand you can put the vehicle in an out of state trust, so the trust owns it, and register it in that state. You may need to go the Montana LLC route. A bill to allow a MD military license plates has been introduced in the past but could not get over the finish line.
Hagerty have an articular about this. The Montana LLC thing states have an issue with is taxes... Most MVs are not super high value and thus no huge taxes... Not talking about the insurance company, talking about an accident investigator looking into your LLC and determining it doesn't do any business, and exists merely to circumvent a law.Hagerty have an articular about this.
