In the next few days I'll be replacing the front calipers + pads, rear wheel cylinders + shoes, and all flex lines. Last week I replaced all the power steering/hydroboost lines and degreased and cleaned the entire area. I've noticed the area where the hydroboost and the master meet has stayed moist. And after looking at the nasty brake fluid I'm going to assume that it's from the back of the master. My question is this. I've noticed that later model K30's went to the more reliable aluminum master. Will these fit our trucks? And do they have the same bore size?

Be sure to use the correct brake fluid.

Why is an aluminum mc more reliable?

It's bin my experience with hot rods that they far outlast the old iron masters. I just figured the same would be said for these.

The aluminum ones normally are quick take up masters, not sure how compatible they are with drums. It would be an upgrade in the fuel savings dept, less weight.

IMO...money better spent elsewhere. The stock brake system is pretty good as far as hydraulics go. The OEM works well and can be rebuilt or reman'd on the cheap.
