A surplus store near me has a few medical oxygen cylinders, the little small ones with the pin-type valve instead of the standard "water faucet" looking valve. These were oxygen tanks that came from the military in the 1960s and 1970s for use on ambulances. I think they are empty, but they look like new condition.
Was wondering if they could be changed to the standard valve, so that they could be more useful around the shop, for welding purposes? I have already searched on this, and found mixed answers, mostly because the question asked concerned changing the filled gas to CO2, which is a no-no. But if the tank would still be used with oxygen, do those tanks swap valves, or are the threads different?
