while searching last month for M809-series glow plugs I came across several for M002/003 on fleabay , prices were anywhere from $50 to $175ea

Yup, There still some out there, but typically $50 is the cheapest you'll find retail.
Occasionally a deal will come around, but deals don't last long, so jump when you see one!
