Why do these gen sets have three fuel pumps? Because they have SIX filters and strainers! Yes, two elements, a strainer+water separator and each fuel pump has a fine strainer.

The bottoms come off with a twist, then the filter is inside. If you are having fueling issues, check these as they can get plugged.

Lift pump, auxillary pump, injector pump, how many do you need?

there are 2 lift pumps and one aux pump, just done for redundancy. The set can run just fine with 1 lift pimp, but if the military were running some critical equipment like a field hospital, I think they would be very very upset if they lost power due to a bad fuel pump. The odds of both fuel pumps going bad at one time on a running set...unlikely.
