Looks like I am going to be rebuilding my pump since your same symptoms have been solved. What was your total cost for the parts to GMG? I now they think their parts are made of gold but unfortunately they are the only supplier now that Ambac is out.
Plunger Guide-$37.08
Gasket Rebuild Kit (KT85166)-$89.00
Shipping-$20.03
Total- $146.11

I did call Ambac (spoke to Heather) they had these parts available but were more expensive by about $20+. Didn't ask about shipping cost. Heather did say "we" can still buy directly from them any parts they have in stock.
Depends on load, If no load I wouldnt worry

Ran it again this morning for a little over an hour and Shutters opened as they should. Temp at the Shutter Box Shutters and various spots on the Block ranged from 134°-143.5° once everything came up to temp. I think all is good...Okay, at least it is with my Gen Set...

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! Couldn't have done it without your input, guidance and knowledge!!!!

Bet you didn't price the timing buttons? GMG has them but they are made of Platinum!!!! At least that is how they are priced.

Just judging by the difference in color I think my pump was changed so I will be doing a flow timing test before starting.

I did not price the Buttons. Try Heather at Ambac and see if they even have them then you'll at least have a price comparison. What's crazy to me is the shipping cost most seem to be charging for something can fit into a standard envelope with a $0.73 cent stamp.

I've also seen recently seen Buttons on eBay.

I just rebuilt a pump last week for another SS member who was having the same issues. Running poorly, then bogging down and died. Ended up also having a broken plunger guide. Plunger guide was $52 total after tax and shipping! $12 to ship something smaller than a quarter!

@rickf if you perform the flow timing and determine what size button you need, let me know I have a lot of them on hand, but none are the thickest couple sizes, most of what I have left are probably #12 and thinner, maybe a 13 or 14 but not sure, the thicker ones are like gold apparently!

I've done two of them by the flow method this year and both of them ended up needing a number 16. I think the thicker ones have to do with wear over time and parts getting smaller

Yup! the last 3 or 4 I did ( a couple years ago ) all needed 15's and 16's
I ended up having to buy on ebay.... some people were asking as much as $200+ for a #16, but got lucky and found a couple cheap ones, but I suspect those days may have passed...
