Cord with 2 male ends. Plug one into the wall outlet and the other into the generator. Problem is if the unit is hot and not plugged into the wall you have live 220.

Thank you. So it's just a way to backfeed the house without much work. I'd probably do something like that on the outside of the house, right next to the switch to disconnect the house from the grid.

But I sure as heck wouldn't do it in the house.

No you wouldn't Steve...you'd do it the right way.

The right way would be to use a reverse prong inlet feeding into a transfer switch or interlock breaker so you would not have live prongs from the generator output laying around if someone trips over the cord and unplugs it, better is a twist lock inlet connector with a weatherproof cover.
