I would like to confirm that no.1 piston is on the fan side and firing order is 1234 for valve adjustment. I cannot find firing order in any of the manuals or a search

What TM's do you have? In the TM 5-6115-585-12, page 4-50, para 4-46 it explains how to adjust the valves.

Guy fang I did find that but apparently it didn’t sink in the first time. I read the first part of it for pistons 1&2and got side tracked. 
I was mainly looking to confirm which piston was no1. The fan side. Anyway both units- valves are adjusted and injectors are in. Going together good. Tomorrow the fuel systems get cleaned out and fresh oil. Thanks again for all your help
