Mep-005a generator

I just bought this generator and a friend of mine and i were talking do i really have to change it from a 3 phase to a 1 phase to make it usable. I am going to use this as a emergency generator for my house and for a mobile disaster power source.

Also if we do make it a 1 phase do i really drop the output by a 1/3

i also bought on of these Military Generator Relay Box Part # 72-2209 i really dont know what it does and have not talked to my generstor guy yet. but in the posts i have read it seems important. so anyone tell me what it does

no power to the pumps

for some reason i cant get power to the transfer pumps on my mep-005a. any ideas hopefully this is a minor fix
