Have the above generator, it stopped producing electric. Checked the static exciter, diodes on the internal board had some white crumbly powder on then. I replaced the board. with a new board. Now i have over voltage. At an idle i have 43HZ as i increase the throttle to get to 60 HZ the voltage goes high enough to trip the over voltage relay. I checked voltage and HZ with a reliable volt meter. Thanks for any help.

Check the voltage rheostat on the front panel - if this rheostat goes out it will over excite.

Its a utility class. Didnt think that rheostat did anything.

There are two Rheostats, One for Volt (used on utility) and one for Frequency (not used on utility)

When you put the new VR in the static exciter box, did you maybe put one in that was for 400 hertz?

NEVER, EVER, Not even a bit, Idle these sets.

Well, that tells me you have not downloaded the TM's. Red is for the 005A.
