MEP-016D 120/240 split load meter accuracy

Does anyone know what effect the 120\240 split modification has on the load meter.

Reason I ask is I get no load meter movement on one leg when putting on a 1650 watt load but I do get load meter movement when I put another load of the same wattage. Am I to understand it only gets a reading off one leg?

I believe they only get a reading off one leg, that is true with a lot of generators.
