I have had my 1040 for a while now, getting ready to finally load test it now that the weather is getting warmer and will be pouring a pad for it to sit on outside. Right now it sits dry in the shop. anyway on to my observations and curiousness. my unit was slightly damaged on the bottom which is not big deal. It came from the big auction site out of Georgia. The thing that i had to do when i got it was remove all these tiny rocks from inside where the radiator and the inside behind the control panel. it looks as if a fan has shot the outside with these tiny rocks. A little damage to the edge of the fins and chips in the paint. I have noticed this on several other since then on that auction site at the same place, just wondering any guesses how this happens, considering none of these units have been deployed. The other thing i have noticed is on other units coming from that auction site although only 5-9 hours on these machines they are pucking oil out the fill hole. My unit is just fine, but wondering they call it blow by, but would this indicate an injector leaking by. maybe from a dried out seal from sitting in storage for 9-10 years?

Ill chime in on this please... I have a new AAMPS -1040 10KW unit for sale. It actually has 34 hours operating time, but the hour meter shows 300 or so hours, simple enuff my Grandson turned to starting switch but didn't turn it back to OFF ... But either way its a low hour set in perfect condition, it has no issues of any sorts. Shipping available, unit price $8,000 Trailer available if you want it, no charge if you take it, no credit if you leave it. located in Wimberley, Texas

Getting ready for Winter started a little early tonight. Car Accident took out the power for about 3 hours. after about an hour i decided to break out the 1040 as i have never had it hooked to the house. 30 minutes making up a power cord and got it hooked up. As it wasnt 100 degrees or -30 out side not much load when i flipped the switch about .9kw. So i started turning on lights and was at 2.6 kw went outside to work on somethings and when i got back the freezers and the furnace , and mini split must have kicked on so i was at 5.8 kw. I was thinking of running my 1030 during winter, but i think after i pour my concrete pad the 1040 will stay year round. Prior to this i have always pulled my Trailermounted multiquip whisperwatt 10kw out of the barn and parked it by the house for outages. During high heat and downpours at night is not ideal so i guess this will get the pad moved up on priority. 1040 ran great for the .6 hours that it ran lol before power was restored, nice and quiet purring like a kitten. more quiet than the whisperwatt. I just never new how much power i actually was drawing in winter as i knew a 7kw would not run the the house this past JULY 4th when i tried it during an outage.

Youre gonna hate her when she starts bitching about doing the scheduled maintenance and the prompts dont go away and the shutdown counter wont start. Pro tip, after you clear the maint warnings, hit fault reset on the panel so the get programmed in. They all come back and start from zero if you hit the main breaker or swap batteries. Thats my gripe with them but ive had mine for 3 years now and ran about 100 hours.

my maintenance does not start from zero and i always turn off the main breaker. Must be something wrong with your internal battery that stores the memory, all the units I have bought never had the batteries hooked up and sat in storage for 10 years and were still only a day off and all memory was stored as far as maintenance.
