There is a previous post that says size 51R batteries fit. Another poster said buy the cheapest Walmart batteries, that was wrong! The cheapest Walmart batteries were size 26 and they do not fit. So I am back to the store to exchange the size 26 for the correct size 51. They cost an extra $40 per battery, but it is all good!

I used a couple of 51R's last time, but next time I'm going to use ONE 51R and ONE "normal" 51. That'll allow me to keep the terminals away from the battery hold down hardware.

use Excide or Deka batteries, these are the ones the military uses, some batteries do not work well with the charging system, I have found that walmart batteries will overcharge and not last long. Tractor Supply has the Excide 51 and 51R in stock usually.

And the Excide batteries are about $30 cheaper at tractor supply.
